There's a huge tech boom in London, with thousands of digital jobs being created each year. It's the fastest growing industry and that's not set to change anytime soon. There is no business which doesn't use technology in some way - so this leaves a real skills shortage. That’s why the Mayor of London is funding digital skills training, through a £7m Digital Talent programme that will inspire and prepare more young Londoners to fill these roles, and improve the pool of talent available to employers.
Digital Pathways one of the initiatives funded by the Digital Talent programme. We recruit 16-24 year olds that live in London, who aren't in education or employment. We teach them employability skills, along with giving an introduction to digital. They leave the programme with confidence and a real chance of starting a great career.
